What is Nymphoplasty?
Nymphoplasty aka labia minor surgery aims to reduce the size of the vaginal labia.
Indications for labia minora reduction
If your vaginal labia are too large or drooping and this is causing you discomfort, nymphoplasty can solve this problem by reducing their size. You will then regain the normal comfort of the vaginal area and the normal appearance of the labia minora.
A healthy lifestyle, a healthy diet and quitting smoking at least one month before the procedure will contribute to a smooth procedure and a good recovery.
Nymphoplasty: the procedure
The doctor will locate and delimit the area of the labia minora to be operated on and the excess to be treated.
The procedure consists of gradually removing the excess skin until the desired result is achieved.
This procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia and lasts no more than 1 hour.
Post-operative period for intimate nymphoplasty surgery
The operation is ambulatory. The doctor’s instructions regarding the hygiene of the operated area must be strictly followed in order to avoid any infection.
Nymphoplasty is not very painful. The absorbable sutures disappear spontaneously within 10 days. You can resume your professional activity 3 to 5 days after the operation, and sports 4to 6 weeks later. You can resume sexual relations after 4 to 6 weeks.
Results
At first the operated area will be swollen, and small bleeding may appear. The first glimpse of the result is immediate, it will improve after 3 weeks, once the area has deflated. The finalresult is visible 3 months after the operation.
Risks of nymphoplasty in Lausanne
