Procedure

No special preparation is required.

Downtime

No downtime is required after the botulinum toxin injection procedure. Some redness may be temporarily noticed in the injection area for a few hours after the procedure.

It is recommended not to massage the injected area for a few hours to avoid migration of the product away from the targeted area.

Results

The botulinum toxin becomes effective after 2 to 4 days of the injection. This time is necessary for the toxin to act and for your facial muscles to relax. Results are visible for 3 to 6 months depending on your body's reaction to the botox. The effect will be longer after several sessions.

Risks

The main risk of botulinum toxin in the face is to accentuate pre-existing asymmetries of expression or to generate new asymmetries. These complications are temporary.
