What is medical rhinoplasty?

Medical rhinoplasty, also called rhinomodulation, is an alternative to nose-surgery to improve the aesthetics of the nose without having to resort to surgery.

This remodeling of the nose is done through injections of hyaluronic acid that will correct the small defects of the nose with a natural and harmonious result with the rest of the face.

Hyaluronic acid is preferred for its volumizing and filling properties making it capable of restructuring the nose.

Who is concerned by a medical rhinoplasty?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is for people who have a complex about the appearance of their nose but are not ready to undergo surgery. Injections can also be a first step before performing nose surgery.

The main aspects of the nose that can be corrected by a medical rhinoplasty are the following

• Asymmetry
• Mild to moderate nasal hump
• A drooping nose tip
• A snub nose or trumpet nose
• Irregularities on the bridge or tip of the nose
• A hollowed or too flat nose
• An unsightly separation line at the columella
• A flat spot between the eyebrows
• A nasolabial angle that is not very pronounced or too pronounced
• A nasofrontal angle that is not very pronounced or too pronounced

Medical rhinoplasty can be performed on men and women of any age, as long as their nose has grown.

However, unlike surgery, the injections do not act on internal problems (deviation of the nasal septum, respiratory problems) but only on the external structures of the nose.

The injections will last between 15 and 30 minutes.

What are the consequences of medical rhinoplasty?

As after any treatment by injection of hyaluronic acid, medical rhinoplasty involves some transient side effects. These are generally small bruises, slight swelling and local redness.

Other than that, this treatment involves few risks and they remain rare.

Medical rhinoplasty does not require any social eviction, you can resume your professional and social activities immediately after the surgery.

However, some recommendations should be followed during the first few days, while the injected hyaluronic acid stabilizes:

• Do not engage in violent sports
• Do not wear glasses that rest on the nose
• Do not expose yourself to intense sources of heat such as the sun, UV rays, the hammam or the sauna.
• Avoid alcohol, Aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs.

What results can I expect?

The results of medical rhinoplasty are visible immediately.

The nose is reshaped in harmony with the rest of the face.

Results are long-lasting but temporary because hyaluronic acid is an absorbable product. On average, the effects of medical rhinoplasty remain visible for 12 to 18 months, sometimes up to 2 years, depending on each person (quantity injected, type of hyaluronic acid used, gender, lifestyle, skin quality, etc.). Maintenance sessions should therefore be scheduled if you wish to keep results longer.
