Dr. Jean-Luc Lévy is a dermatologist at Global Medical Institute in Lausanne, Switzerland, specializing in the treatment of skin disorders by laser.
Medical training and research
Dr. Jean-Luc Lévy obtained his medical degree in Marseille and his specialization in dermato-venereology in French universities. He is a specialist in dermatology FMH. He attended several seminars at Harvard Medical School and started laser treatment in dermatology in 1985 among the first in Europe.
Publications and inventions
Dr. Lévy has numerous publications. He is the author of 30 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and author or co-author of reference books in the world of aesthetic dermatology and laser. He is editor-in-chief of the journal An appraisal of lasers in dermatology.
Dr. Levy is the author of the book “Teledermatology in Liberal Practice” and has become one of the first international promoters of telemedicine.
International Academic Recognition
Dr. Levy has been invited several times in various countries of the world as a visiting professor to share his knowledge and expertise with his colleagues in dermatology as well as in transversal specialties such as pharmacology, 3D skin-imaging or robotics. From 1990 to 2006 he was invited in universities as a lecturer in lasers. He has also given seminars for many laser manufacturers and developed technologies still used in today's lasers.
Academic Recognition and Teaching
Dr. Lévy was awarded the Gold Medal of the Hospitals of Marseille. He is now a professor at the Universities of Lausanne and Paris, where he teaches medical laser techniques to future dermatologists. From 2008 to 2014, he was the director of the university diploma in laser.
In addition, Dr. Lévy was appointed expert for the approval of lasers by the French Ministry of Health until the CE marking in 1994.
